Empowering the Future
As part of our commitment to social impact, Riviera Media actively participates in the Dreams project, sponsored by PEPFAR and CDC. Through this initiative, we train Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Photography and Videography, empowering them through visual storytelling.
Shaping Uganda’s Future Through the Lens
In Uganda, one of the ways DREAMS provides economic strengthening is through a photography and videography training course. Participants learn how to operate and care for equipment, capture impactful images that tell a story, edit images and footage, develop ideas, and write scripts. Mentorship and coaching foster creative talents, while fieldwork offers real-world exposure that allows participants to bring their unique perspectives to life.

Skilling Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW)
One of our notable areas of expertise is in providing comprehensive training programs, particularly for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW). As part of our commitment to community development and empowerment, we have partnered with the Ministry of Health and the Infectious Disease Institute (IDI) to implement the DREAMS initiative (Determined Resilient Empowered AIDS-free Mentored and Safe).
This strategic program combines health and socio-economic empowerment interventions to address the structural vulnerabilities to HIV, with a specific focus on reducing new infections among AGYW.
At the heart of the DREAMS program is vocational skilling, which aims to enhance the socio-economic status of AGYW. Our role in this initiative is to offer specialized training in photography and videography.
Through our partnership with the DREAMS initiative, we are proud to announce that we have successfully trained over 400 AGYWs. The impact of our training program is evident as a significant number of our trainees have secured jobs, apprenticeships, or embarked on entrepreneurial ventures in the media and photography industry. This demonstrates the effectiveness of our approach in empowering young women to not
only achieve financial independence but also actively contribute to the growth of their communities.
